Meet the "Critter Lady"!

It's important to know who you're trusting with your pets and home, so allow me to introduce myself!

My name is Gretchen and I am the owner and operator of The Critter Lady LLC. I am a professional pet sitter serving the Marysville, CA area and the surrounding counties. I obtained my National Association of Professional Pet Sitters Certification May of 2024 as a way of providing solid credentials to back up my lifelong learning for critters of all kinds.

When working with me, you can expect regular communication in the form of thorough reports and plenty of pictures and videos documenting the time you spend away from your pets. The professional expertise I bring is a product of 20 years spent working with dogs, cats and horses, and more recently, birds. I grew up on the east coast showing German Shepherds and American Eskimos with my mother, and as a junior handler, was exposed to breeds of every variety. Pomeranians to Great Pyrenees, Shelties to Golden Retrievers, I learned handling skills and grooming that I now apply in my daily work. I do nothing halfway and as a proud animal nerd, any new critter that has drawn my interest has gone into my mental repository of information leveraged for the benefit of all my clients. 

The Critter Lady LLC was born as I often find myself helping critters in need all over the area and kept jokingly calling myself "the crazy critter lady" when working with fellow good samaritans to help each critter who has found themselves in my care. I've found dogs abandoned on the side of the road and in parking lots, as well as I have taken on bottle-feeding 7 two week old kittens, and dote on stray cats around where I live because I am a helper at heart.
